CoreHawk

Take the skies. Dig through the planet. Fight for the core.

CoreHawk is a free, 2D pixel-art team combat game set on a destructible circular planet. Battle on foot, fly fighters around the world, drop bombs on enemy positions, or carve a route underground with a core driller.

The battlefield changes as you fight. Bullets chip away at the ground, bombs leave craters, and tunnels open new routes beneath enemy defenses. Engineers keep their teams moving by building bridges, deploying vehicles, and healing nearby allies.

At the planet’s center lies the power core. Claim it to give your entire team triple weapon damage for 30 seconds—and unleash a wave that restores the terrain and destroys everyone still underground, including you. Reaching the core can turn the match around, but your team will need to make that sacrifice count.

• Four game modes: Capture / Hold, Capture the Flag, Team Deathmatch, and Endless Sandbox.
• Large battles: Configure teams of up to 40 combatants, with AI filling empty slots.
• Vehicles and pickups: Pilot planes, drive jeeps, drill through terrain, and collect weapons to change your loadout.
• Infantry and engineers: Fight on the front line or support your team with vehicles, bridges, and healing.
• Flight School: Practice flying, bombing, and parachuting before joining the battle.

Play solo alongside AI teammates and opponents or host a password-protected multiplayer match for friends over LAN or direct IP.

CoreHawk is in active development. Bug reports, balance suggestions, and stories from your matches are welcome!

I'm playing this on a Macbook Pro with a keyboard and touchpad. I have tested it on Windows with the same set up, but I haven't tested using controllers. I also haven't tested playing with many real people on a LAN, but local tests support up to 40v40 without any issues.

My wife and I have a lot of fun playing 40v40 matches together against the evil Red Team!

- These builds are NOT signed. If you open the game, you might be told it's corrupt and should be deleted. If you load it through the itch.io app, you shouldn't have that problem. I don't suggest anyone disable their OS security to play this game, however fun it might be.

- If you have the itch sandbox enabled, the game won't be able to start a local or online game because the sandbox prohibits those connections. That is a good thing. Do not disable your itch sandbox to play this game, but if you don't use the sandbox, it will work fine.

IF YOU CHOOSE TO DISABLE SANDOX: Only do it for CoreHawk via CoreHawk → Manage → Launch settings → turn Sandbox off for this game.
